About Jeff Phillips

Jeffrey E. "Jeff" Phillips is a retired Army major general and veteran of two wars with decades of experience spanning military service, politics, public relations, government, public advocacy, and private sector management.

Jeff directed veterans and military outreach for the 2000 Bush-Cheney presidential campaign, credited by the Washington Times as a key influence in the Florida Recount outcome. He served the Bush Administration as deputy assistant secretary for public affairs, White House liaison, and acting assistant secretary for public and intergovernmental affairs in the Department of Veterans Affairs.

In Congress, Jeff served as communication director and Subcommittee on Disability Assistance and Memorial Affairs staff director in the House Committee on Veterans' Affairs, known for his ability to work "across the aisle."

In the private sector, Jeff formed and directed the federal sales division for medical device manufacturer Smiths Medical, then a division of Smiths Group.

Most recently, Jeff completed ten years as executive director of the Reserve Organization of America, leading the organization's turnaround and revitalization into financial, programmatic, and legislative vitality.
